This engaging, entertaining and morally uplifting selection of editorial cartoons is drawn from the collection of magic scholar Montague Chadbourne, visiting research scholar at the Main Street Museum, confidant of some of the greatest masters of 20th Century magic, and contributor to the "Journal of Magic History" among other publications. Conjuring-iconography has endured from the time of European masters such as Bosch and Breugel - as past and current commentators of the social and political scene use the magician's art of illusion and manipulation to represent political slight of hand. The exhibit will include the work of graphic novelist and The Center for Cartoon Studies faculty member Jason Lutes and his work "Jar of Fools."
