Vermont's Premier Balloon Festival

June 15, 16 and 17, 2007
The highways, byways, hills and valleys of this small Vermont village, home of Quechee Gorge, Vermont's answer to the Grand Canyon, will fill with over 20 hot air balloons.
The Festival's sponsor, the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce, will be rolling out a special red carpet on June 15, 16, and 17, 2007, as the Festival marks its 28th anniversary.

The success of this Festival is attributed to the Chamber's emphasis on producing a family-oriented event with something for everyone. The Father's Day Weekend date has become the weekend for weddings, reunions, engagements, and birthday and anniversary celebrations.
The Festival has become a true region-wide activity. Visitors fill lodging and dining facilities within a 40-mile radius; there is a waiting list for balloonists wishing to attend; and entertainment groups vie for inclusion.
Festival gates open at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15. The first balloon flight (weather permitting) is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with additional flights at 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16; 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 17. Balloon rides may be booked through the Chamber office (800-295-5451) or in person at the Balloon Reservation Table at the Festival. Rides are $195.00 per person plus tax, to be booked in advance or at the festival grounds; plus the $10 festival admission to be paid at the gate. Makes a great Holiday, Valentine, Birthday, Father's Day, or Anniversary gift. "One of the most beautiful sites in New England for hot air ballooning," say the balloon pilots.
From the moment the gates open on Friday to the last balloon flight on Sunday, Festival goers will be entertained with music, song, smiles and laughter. During the weekend, you will hear rhythm and blues, jump swing and 70s hits, jazz, guitarists, songsters, vocalists, clowns, mimes, jugglers, puppeteers, unicycling, vaudeville acts, and dance.
Fine Crafters and Vendors All Weekend Long, Including Many from the League of NH Craftsmen and VT Handcrafters Association. A major ingredient with true Vermont flavor is the craft show. Over 50 craft vendors will be in residence during the Festival with displays of jewelry, woodworking, stained glass, paintings and photography, quilters, specialty foods, clothing, ceramics, dried flowers and herbs and much more. The unique character of these crafters brings visitors who come every year to shop for Christmas gifts, home and office.
Following the old adage, "If the kids are happy, Mom and Dad are happy," with a myriad of inflatable amusements, everyone should have a FUNtastic time. Face painting, kite flying, children's games, and special entertainment venues-all make this a real Family Festival.
There may be additional fees for some of the activities on the festival grounds. There is always lots of great Festival food including everything from fried dough to fresh fruit drinks, barbecues, country breakfasts, hot apple-cinnamon buns, ice cream, and cotton candy. We have also added a Beer Garden featuring Vermont Beers from Otter Creek Brewing Co. Other activities include the Quechee Library famous book sale and the weekend-long Green Mountain Volleyball Tournament.
The Festival is held on the Quechee Village Green, in the center of the village, just off Main Street.
Join us Friday, June 15, for the Balloon Ascension at 6:00 p.m. and the Balloon Glow spectacular that begins after dark.
No Dogs Allowed
Festival Admission for the weekend is just $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for ages 6 - 12, kids under age 6 are free. Balloon Rides may be booked in advance or by chance at the balloon ride RV at the festival.
